The University of Oxford is an internationally renowned centre for learning, teaching and research that attracts students and scholars from across the globe. However, exact date of the foundation of the University is not known, the university claims to be 9 century old. Today the university represents more than 130 nationalities among a student population of over 18,000.  It is said that teaching in the university existed in some form since 1096 and it developed rapidly from 1167when Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris.
University of Oxford consists of 39 self-governing colleges out of which thirty colleges and all halls admit students for both graduates and undergraduates’ degree while seven other colleges are for graduates only.  One college admits fellow while other one specializes in part time and continuing education. Besides this there are seven other permanent private halls founded by different Christian denomination.
