Established in 1891, the California Institute of Technology is located in Pasadena in California, USA. The real mission of the University is to expand human knowledge and benefit society through research integrated with education. With the motto “The truth shall make you free”, the institutes try to investigate the most challenging, fundamental problems in science and technology in a singularly collegial interdisciplinary atmosphere and at the same time educate the outstanding students to become creative members of society.
The university put strong emphasis on natural sciences and engineering. Also operates and manages jet propulsion laboratory.
California Institute of Technology is divided into six divisions, each of which offers several degree programs, plus a number of interdisciplinary programs. The six divisions are:
